About Vamos STEM

Vamos STEM is a hands-on workshop for Hispanic and minority youth to create initial exposure to STEM. The goal of our classes is to spark an interest in STEM, making science and engineering more accessible for all. Participants will work through different project challenges that will draw upon teamwork, determination, creativity, and problem-solving skills.

Makers will be given a variety of interactive design challenges, such as Lego Challenges, Egg Drop, Paper Airplane Design, Balloon Car Creation, Paper Tower Construction, Foil Boat Float, and Marshmallow Bridge. Each of these activities creates an introduction through everyday objects that allows participants to see the presence of STEM in their everyday lives.
